Trampled by Turtles is Dave Simonett, Tim Saxhaug (bass, vocals), Dave Carroll (banjo, vocals), Erik Berry and Ryan Young (fiddle). Within the contained music scene of Duluth, the members of the band did their own time in punk and rock bands, brandishing their electricity proudly before switching to acoustic instruments. While they never set out to be a “bluegrass” band, Trampled by Turtles employs many of the same traditional techniques of the genre, but their differences in influences, attitude and attack make for their unique sound.

With the ability to sing and play a large variety of instruments it’s obvious that music comes naturally to Flux Pavilion aka Joshua Steele. Since first sitting down at a keyboard at the age of six his dream has been to make music that he loves, and perform it to people who love it just as much. Influenced by the likes of The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx and dubstep pioneer Rusko, Flux loved the high energy madness that dance music was capable of and set about making some of his own in the form of dubstep. Already adept with production skills he was soon off the starting block and with his tunes swiftly generating interest on the circuit, it was soon clear that what started off as a bit of experimentation had led to Flux landing on his feet with the dubstep sound. Before long labels were banging at his door itching to release his music so he decided that the world was ready for a bit of Flux Pavilion! Signing tunes to Rottun, Shift, XS Records, Stupid Fly and Dubmented Beats and working with artists such as Datsik and Trolley Snatcha, his tunes were soon dominating the charts and starting to receive a lot more interest from the big boys. Next Ntype featured his track “Fucking Noise”on his "Rinse Mix” CD, and not content with that then signed Flux’s track “Meathead” to his label Wheel & Deal. This was a massive look for Flux and got his name out there to all the DJs: soon enough no club was safe from one of Flux's bangers and the bookings came flying in all over the UK and Europe.

Its fitting, then, that as the band (now comprised of Jamie Stewart, Angela Seo, Bettina Escauriza, Marc Riordan, and returning member Devin Hoff) marks a decade in existence, such a powerful sentiment would serve as the title of its latest album. As dubstep production duo Mt Eden (formerly Mt Eden Dubstep), Jesse Hooper and Harley Rayner are truly putting New Zealand - and dubstep as a genre - on the map. You could write that off as industry hyperbole, but in this case a little braggadocio is entirely apt: to date the New Zealand based act can claim over 50 million collective plays of their tracks on YouTube - more than any other New Zealand act, ever.

What started as a hobby in their early teens (they were 13 and 14 when they started mixing together on their computers), has morphed into international success for the pair, who only started posting their music online after a friend created a YouTube channel for them in early 2010. Within months their total hit count was in the millions and rising - all of a sudden the bedroom producers and amateur DJs were staring down the barrel of international renown, and feeling appropriately blown away.

Ive always thought of the BoDeans as a truly American band, says Kurt Neumann, the founder, primary writer and frontman of the veteran Milwaukee-based group. Roots rock was a label I fought when I was younger, but I came to realize that if by roots you meant blues, rock, country and soul all slammed together into one sound, then Id say yesthat is the sound of American-made music. Neumann fully embraces that notion on American Made, the BoDeans eleventh album. Directed by filmmaker Nabil Elderkin, who you’ll recognize as the director for “Holocene,” the video follows one man through a beautiful part of Washington state, home to Indian-preserved land. Elderkin told us, “When Justin sent me a breakdown of what certain parts/lines of the song meant to him I did my best to decode it and curate into something simple, and hopefully the viewer can take from it their own feeling of what the towers represent.” How “simple” could describe such a breathtaking video boggles the mind, but indeed it does. A pure simplicity rings true to the work, with no gimmicks or overt constructionism at play. The video grows organically, breathing additional life into a song that already aurally invokes the senses. Joining the audio now is a stimulating visual experience.

The Denver Chalk Art Festival on Larimer Square is a FREE two-day street-painting festival. More than 200 artists spend hours that weekend turning the streets of Larimer Square into a museum of chalk art. Artists, sponsors and spectators find it difficult to describe in words the splendid experience that Denver Chalk Art Festival creates.

Denver Chalk Art Festival is produced by the Larimer Arts Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting arts awareness and education in Denver.

The event showcases six madonnari (professionals in this medium); all are award-winning street painters including first place finishes in the International Street Painting Competition in Grazie di Curtatone, Italy. Two of the madonnari, Stephen DeOrio and Mark Hollenbeck, are Colorado residents.

You'll find 700 available tables (500 in Pueblo) with all types of guns, knives, ammunition, and related hunting and fishing accessories including, holsters, western wear, gun safes, books, war relics, and other collectibles. We have Colorado's largest selection of old and new firearms.

From the coolest gadgets and technologies to antiques and collector's items, you'll find it all here. Although the focus of the show is guns, knives and outdoor equipment, there are also some other items for those not interested in guns, such as beef jerky, western wear, jewelry, artwork, and books. There is a restaurant on site with a large seating area.

All Denver shows are held at the Denver Merchandise Mart - 58th Avenue at Interstate 25 in Denver, Colorado. 58th Ave. is exit number 215 off I-25, approximately 2 miles North of downtown Denver.

Dan Bejar started Destroyer as a solo home-recording project in the early to mid-nineties. In 1996, he released his debut full length of stripped-down, lo-fi electric folk, We'll Build Them a Golden Bridge. Soon the Destroyer template expanded to include a rhythm section, and Bejar was compelled to head into a proper studio to record City of Daughters in 1998. It was with Daughters that Bejar began to develop his own unique lyrical voice, a voice that continued to evolve and refine itself over the course of his next two records, Thief and Streethawk: A Seduction. Destroyer seemingly had produced its masterwork with Streethawk, a highly refined send-up and condemnation of popular culture, an idea honed to razor-sharp precision. The album became one of the most acclaimed recordings of 2001, and the Destroyer mystique captured music fans and critics alike.

Ghostland Observatory’s entire approach to music – sonically, aesthetically, conceptually – is essentially a melding of the two distinctly different personalities of its two members, Thomas Ross Turner and Aaron Behrens. Whereas Turner, the producer/drummer/keyboardist of the duo, finds solace in the minimal, bleak cable-patch squawks of Karlheinz Stockhausen and the analog-disco-thump of Giorgio Moroder, Behrens’ interests lie more along the lines of psychedelia, rock and various country and blues artists. The result is a shimmering, pulsing pop music that is at once kinetically alive with Behrens’ striking vocals and driving guitar work but also anchored firmly by Turner’s percussive beats and Moog-generated melodies and hooks. Common descriptions include “electro-dance rock,” “synth-funk” and “Freddie Mercury-helms-Daft Punk.”
