The members of All Time Low have always been very open about their formative musical influences: New Found Glory, Fall Out Boy, Green Day, Third Eye Blind and, of course, Blink-182. They’ve also been open about how their icons have inspired their previous albums—from the Saves The Day-esque pop-punk jams populating 2007’s So Wrong, It’s Right to the upbeat rockers on 2009’s Nothing Personal and the eclectic, ecstatic pop of 2011’s Dirty Work. But when it came time to make their fifth album, Don’t Panic, the band decided to look inward for inspiration.

As a visual artist, Broken Arrow, Okla., native JD McPherson is well versed in the process of working within clearly defined formal parameters, and he employs a similarly rigorous discipline with his music. On Signs & Signifiers (Rounder, April 17), McPherson’s seductively kickass debut album, produced by JD’s musical partner, Jimmy Sutton, this renaissance man/hepcat seamlessly meshes the old and the new, the primal and the sophisticated, on a work that will satisfy traditional American rock ’n’ roll and R&B purists while also exhibiting McPherson’s rarefied gift for mixing and matching disparate stylistic shapes and textures.

The Bronxis what punk needs: they harness the genre's classic fire but then bend it to their whim, forging rock n' roll swagger together with hardcore grit. The L.A.quintet churn out raw riffs and piercing hooks, and their third offering, The Bronx (III), brandishes enough savage charm to spark a revolution. Matt Caughthran croons and screams about fun, family-friendly characters like "Knifeman" and the "Pleasure Seekers." Joby Ford and Ken Horne's guitar playing blasts like a machine gun, while Jorma Vik's drumming is fierce, fiery and furious; amidst the aural assault, Brad Magers holds a tight bass groove. Over the course of their first two offerings, the band garnered massive critical claim and carved out a national fan base from touring with the likes of Mastodon, Converge and Every Time I Die. They even occupied a main stage spot on 2008's Warped Tour. L.A.has been "in the know" about The Bronx for years, but with this new album, the band's about to expose the whole world to their bleeding and ravenous rock n' roll spirit. You've been warned.

Since the creation of the band just three years ago, The Magic Beans have established themselves as a prominent and original act in the perpetually flooded Colorado music scene and nationally. The group made a name for themselves with a deep cannon of original songs, virtuosic playing, and fusing genres; while connecting with their fan base in a way that is not typical with other bands.

For a band that burst on the scene with an ecstatically received 16 minutes of music (2006's A Lesson In Crime EP) followed in rapid fire succession by additional EPs and singles (Smith, "Your English Is Good") and a debut album (2008's Elephant Shell) all in under two years time, you'd think 26 months between albums would be an interminable wait. And it might well have been for Tokyo Police Club, had they not toured relentlessly in support of that first album through August of 2009--and started writing new songs virtually the second their previous record was put to bed.So the nine month gap between the close of that tour and the June 8 release of Champ, Tokyo Police Club's second full length album and first for the mom+pop label, has been anything but boring or unproductive. Quite the opposite in fact: The Newmarket Ontario quartet ended up happily immersing itself more fully in its craft than ever.

Johnny Clegg is one of South Africa’s most celebrated sons. He is a singer, a songwriter, a dancer, anthropologist and a musical activist whose infectious crossover music, a vibrant blend of Western pop and African Zulu rhythms, has exploded onto the international scene and broken through all the barriers in his own country. In France, where he enjoys a massive following, he is fondly called Le Zulu Blanc – the white Zulu.

Over three decades, Johnny Clegg has sold over five million albums of his brand of crossover music worldwide. He has wowed vast audiences with his audacious live shows and won a number of national and international awards for his music and for his outspoken views on apartheid, his perspectives on migrant workers in South Africa and the general situation in the world today. Johnny Clegg’s history is as bold, colourful and dashing as the rainbow country which he has called home for more than 40 years.

TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES will be released in April on 7Bros. Records, in conjunction with ADA Label Services. On April 1, they’ll hit the road for their first U.S. headlining tour of the year, entitled “An Evening With Sevendust,” which kicks off in Athens, GA at the Georgia Theatre. It’s their first acoustic trek since 2004, when they were touring in support of their second album, SEASONS, and a format their fans have been anxiously awaiting for once again.

As they enter their 17th year as a band, Switchfoot has achieved a level of success that brothers Jon and Tim Foreman and their high-school friend Chad Butler never anticipated when forming the band in San Diego in 1996. The SoCal natives have sold 5.5 million copies worldwide of their eight studio albums (including their 2003 double-platinum breakthrough The Beautiful Letdown and 2009’s Grammy Award-winning Hello Hurricane), racked up a string of Alternative radio hit singles (“Meant to Live,” “Dare You To Move,” “Mess of Me,” “The Sound (John M. Perkins’ Blues),” “Dark Horses,” and “Afterlife”), performed sold-out world tours (visiting five continents in the past year alone), raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to aid homeless kids in their community through their own Bro-Am Foundation, and earned themselves a global fan base devoted to Switchfoot’s emotionally intelligent and uplifting brand of alternative rock.

The Queers are a pop punk band from New Hampshire, formed in 1982. Singer/Guitarist/Songwriter Joe King has been the principal member of the group, with a vast number of musicians cycling in and out of the band over the years. Supposedly, the band name 'Queers' was used simply to poke fun at what he called the "Art Fag" community in NH. That same brand of humor and inanity has become a staple of The Queers music. While some punk rock bands attempt to use their music to impart a social or political message, King has made it clear that The Queers exist simply to play punk rock for the fun of it.

The Base Camp Bash is Cottonwood Institute's main fundraising event and annual excuse to get together, have fun, eat local food from Snooze, drink local wine, local margaritas from Coyote Gold, local beer from Wynkoop Brewing Company, enjoy live music, and bid on fabulous silent auction items, trips, unique experiences, and date nights from the best local businesses and restaurants. The Base Camp Bash helps raise the critical funds we need each year to connect students to the outdoors and empower them to take action to improve their schools, the community, and the environment for future generations. To kick off the Base Camp Bash main event, we are hosting an exclusive VIP Party from 6:00pm – 7:00pm for individuals and businesses that support the Cottonwood Institute at one of the following VIP levels: $250, $500, $1,000, $2,500, and $5,000. Local mixologists Randy Layman from Ace Eat Serve and his twin brother Ryan Layman from Steuben’s will present a local cocktail tasting using locally sourced spirits and ingredients from Leopold Bros. Stay tuned for more details. We are expecting 125 people to attend the VIP Party and this is a great opportunity to network with the movers and shakers of Denver.

"The Drunken Hearts are by their own reckoning a deeply Colorado band, and their sound is further evidence that the six-piece band comes from the high country. It’s a rock vibe imbued with country soul. Frontman Andrew McConathy’s voice is like moss blanketing a boulder — soft on top but solid underneath. The band recently added pedal steel player Cody Russell, and Russell’s playing, with its yearning high-lonesome qualities, seems a perfect complement to The Drunken Hearts’ soul. The band is more heart than drink." - Second Story Garage - Boulder, CO.

It might seem odd to describe Bombay Bicycle Club as veterans given that nobody in the band is older than 24, but this is their fourth album, which is something of a landmark achievement in today’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-them climate. The Bombay Bicycle Club story is something that isn’t meant to happen any more – a band given the space by their label, Island, to evolve with each release. The album was produced by Jack in the band’s studio in London, making it their most personal record to date. There was always purpose from the beginning to bring everything together for this album, to tell a story from the first track through to the finale with everything interconnecting as a complete body of work.

Few people were surprised when Stephen Marley’s long awaited debut solo album “Mind Control” (Tuff Gong/Ghetto Youths/Universal Republic) premiered at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Album chart in March 2007; after all, the singing, songwriting and production excellence Stephen had brought to other Marley family projects over the years, including younger brother Damian’s two Grammy Award winning albums, practically guaranteed “Mind Control” would be a remarkable effort. And indeed it is: “Mind Control” is that rare self-produced set featuring a cohesive range of diversified styles, each delivered with equal proficiency. Whether Stephen is the revolutionary roots rocker decrying mental slavery on the album’s title cut, an outraged prisoner protesting his jail term for marijuana possession on the bluesy “Iron Bars”, a forlorn romantic mourning a break-up on “You’re Gonna Leave” or an irresistible retro-dancehall toaster flaunting his mic skills on “The Traffic Jam”, each track on “Mind Control” reconfirms Stephen’s expansive capabilities as an affecting vocalist, a versatile lyricist and an accomplished instrumentalist while furthering his renown as an ingenious producer.

Internationally renowned gypsy punk rock group Gogol Bordello return with their sixth full-length album Pura Vida Conspiracy via ATO Records on July 23. Produced by Andrew Scheps, the new album was recorded in El Paso, Texas at Sonic Ranch Studios and is a powerful collection of 12 surging new songs. In celebration of May Day, an ancient public holiday known for raucous celebrations, Gogol Bordello offer up a stream of their rebellious new song “Malandrino” to get the party started. Click HERE to listen.
The album’s title is derived from a Spanish slang phrase for “pure life,” which is a theme that resonates throughout the new material. The disc’s opener, “We Rise Again,” introduces the album’s limitless, all-embracing themes instantly, centered on a chorus of “Borders are scars on face of the planet.” The new songs are infused with ideas rooted in Eastern philosophy but also search for a means of joining fragmented parts and persons, and of creating a worldwide consciousness.

It's been said that one of humanity's greatest attributes is our desire to remember. In light of the ancient world's epic tales of invasion, occupation, conquest, enslavement, domination, and all-out war, situating history against the equally violent passages of death metal music in such a thorough and reverent way had yet to be achieved until the birth of NILE.

Formed in 1993 by Sanders, bassist / vocalist Chief Spires, and drummer Pete Hammoura, then later augmented in 1996 by second guitarist Dallas Toler-Wade, NILE's symphonic arrangements unleashed a unique approach to their uncompromising technicality and Middle Eastern-tinged songwriting with their two EPs, Festivals Of Atonement (1995), Ramses Bringer Of War (1997), and their first full-length, 1998's Amongst The Catacombs Of Nephren-Ka.
