When country a cappella band Home Free was crowned Season 4 Champions of NBC's The Sing-Off this past December, their victory was by no means the beginnings of a career for the five country stars from Minnesota… rather it was a satisfying culmination of nearly a decade of hard work and commitment to a vocal craft growing in popularity. Founded by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp during their college years in the early 2000s, Home Free had been perfecting their live show for years prior to The Sing-Off--performing together for crowds in countless State and County Fairs, on college campuses, in front of Fortune 500 companies, and in theaters all across the country. It was their experience on the road that carried them to a Sing-Off victory, swelling their fan base and bringing their homegrown country style into a national spotlight. Home Free continues to entertain audiences nationwide with their high-energy show peppered with quick-witted humor that meshes Nashville standards with pop hits dipped in country flavor. They arrive to town on the heals of their debut release on Columbia Records, Crazy Life.

A Song Is A Weapon. So goes the title of a track from The North – the latest stunning offering from Canada’s best kept secret indie institution – STARS. And with those fighting words, STARS are back, having never gone away. Over the course of more than a decade together, STARS have consistently proven themselves adept at producing incisively sharp, beautifully orchestrated pop music. Their sixth album, The North, is no exception. In many ways, it is their finest record to date – a culmination of all they have learned and lost; a record of what it is to love today, of how to live a life in music.

Since coming together a little over a year ago, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney—known collectively as Dan + Shay—have established themselves as one of country music’s most promising duos. With pristine vocals and a knack for writing clever yet relatable songs about looking for, finding and losing love, Dan + Shay bring a youthful sense of energy to country music. Their debut album, Where It All Began, harnesses that energy with 12 radio-ready tracks.

The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band has been creating a whirlwind with their riveting and unconventional elixir of muscular and high voltage country blues capped by gritty growling vocals and striking finger picking. Inspired by the likes of Charley Patton, Furry Lewis and John Hurt, Reverend Peyton is steeped in the great blues tradition but is catapulting its roots into a new era. Living Blues Magazine declares, “The tent revival, almost punk energy of the Big Damn Band is a refreshing splash of coldwater to the face,” while Elmore Magazine raves “You can’t ignore Big Damn Band’s gospel.” February 2015, Shanachie Entertainment will release The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band’s highly anticipated new CD. The release of this album marks the first time that a contemporary artist has been released on Yazoo. Shanachie Entertainment General Manager Randall Grass shares, “We are excited to sign Reverend Peyton, an artist whose appreciation of the many great blues artists released on our historic Yazoo label has led him--like The White Stripes and The Black Keys--to translate the spirit of those seminal masters into a 21st century incarnation of elemental blues."

Kitty, Daisy & Lewis return with their first new album in three years since their acclaimed Smoking In Heaven. On Kitty, Daisy & Lewis The Third, themes of fresh adulthood and lost loves run throughout. With the enlisted help of legendary Clash guitarist, Mick Jones, as producer, KD&L recorded The Third in their self-constructed, 16-track analogue studio in a derelict Indian restaurant in Camden Town. "With Mick on board, it was the first time we have worked with a producer," says Lewis, "Just having someone else in the room meant we could start bouncing ideas off other people and that was great."
